Our name
trunc(x) is a mathematical function that removes the fractional part of x — leaving an integer.
Science: When combined with creative trading and investing, can truncate the common investing and reasoning errors that arise from the irrational corners of our brain. This boosts PnL.
Quant-style systems: Can truncate the Dickensian, repetitive rote work and the long hours that can kill the soul — and thus free up and enhance the team — and multiply the power of a small team.
Real-world quant
We are dedicated to the backbreaking behind-the-scenes labor to make quant real. Data science, model validation, inference, optimization, software engineering, process engineering, data platform, operations and data cleansing.
We post and make videos about how we actually get there. We try not to focus on the glamorous. We believe it’s helpful to be as honest as possible about the quant process.
